My Kid Has Paws is Taking a Prideful Stance

Pride

My Kid Has Paws wants our followers to know that we support the LBGT community!

Why am I bringing this up?

Well,

1) Its Pride Month: The 45th Annual Pride Parade will be taking place in San Francisco next weekend.

2) There is so much hate being spread in the media right now, and I think its time we knock that off and show some love instead. I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, everyone is also entitled to live their life as they please.

3) I want my friends in the LBGT community to know that I support them. My good friend Carol and her wife Darlene have recently celebrated their 1st Anniversary! (Congratulations you two!) When Carol first came out to many of her coworkers, friends, readers, etc., most people were supportive, but some people weren’t, which made me sad when I read her post. Carol is awesome, and Darlene is awesome, and their dog Dexter is awesome, so how could someone not support them?

When my husband and I got married, everyone congratulated us, why don’t they get the same support?

I just don’t get it. So, I want them to know, we support you!

4) Because I look at how Rooney lives life and I want to be more like him.

In the words of my good friend Carol, “Dogs love us unconditionally without judgement and without reservation”. – Carol Bryant, Fidose of Reality

Hate is not an innate behavior in humans, we have to be taught how to hate. Meaning, any ill feelings or behavior people display toward others is something they learned from someone else. Therefore, if we stop spreading the hate, maybe one day it will stop all together. I want future generations to like people because they are good people. Period. End of story.

People in the LBGT community have lost lives because of other peoples hateful words and actions. These tragedies are terrible and then must stop.

We need to take on a dog mentality…

Like everyone who is nice to you, and live each day with your heart full of love.

Thank you, Rachel Marie Sheppard for such a timely article. In two weeks SCOTUS will decide whether ALL people will have the right to marry! That couldn’t come at a better time either; a decision during Pride month. Hopefully, the majority of justices will see that regardless of gender, everyone should have the basic fundamental rights and protections including marrying the person they love! It is people like you and the other 57% of the country who see this as a human right, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Absolutely Darleen! I most certainly see marriage as a fundamental right, and I can’t wait to see the Supreme court give all people the opportunity to marry, which they deserve!

It amazes me that people have more problems accepting how others love instead of how they hate. We attended the Pride parade in NYC. It was so much fun!

Beautiful post! I am so tired of the hate. It’s been interesting following the Caitlyn Jenner news – on one hand I think it’s an amazing story that will help to raise awareness; but the connection to the Kardashians isn’t great. Today, I saw a news headline that said Caitlyn vs. Kris. I got a giggle only because I thought “Wow! Caitlyn Jenner is beautiful.” If I can so readily accept the change, why can’t everyone?

I agree with you regarding the Kardashians connection (I simply am not a fan of them), however I do think the exposure is good. I couldn’t agree with you more, to each their own, the world needs more love and support.

Beautiful post! I’ve always supported the LGBT community, but recently I found out that someone I love very much identifies as LGBT. I admit to feeling a little fear for the safety of my loved one, but I’m glad this person has the strength to be true to self.

Whether a person is straight, or identifies as LBGT, love is right, hatred and unkindness are wrong. I try to not be judgmental, and even though I know it comes from a place of fear and ignorance, some of the stuff people say gets to me.

I hope the time comes soon when everyone is accepting of others and everyone will enjoy the same rights all across the world!
