I don’t know about you, but when summer rolls around, I always get those inevitable feelings of wanderlust.
Said wanderlust is what inspired the theme of today’s post; dog-friendly Airbnbs on the West Coast. I started checking out Airbnbs on the West Coast because our family favors road trips over country-hopping, not only because we can bring Rooney with us, but because we aren’t huge fans of flying. We will fly, but would rather drive if possible.
I thought today, I would share some of my favorite Airbnb discoveries with our readers!
Keep in mind, I was making my decisions on what I determined to be “the best” Airbnbs based on accessibility to dog-friendly activities as well (including hiking, swimming, etc.), and created the list with those attributes in mind.

Lake Tahoe Chalet in Lake Tahoe, CA
Being from California, whenever anyone asks me where they should visit, I always say Lake Tahoe. The lake itself is breathtaking and full of amazing dog-friendly beaches and lots of opportunity for activities. Additionally, you have access to a plethora of hiking trails and the whole location seems like a big beautiful dog haven. This beautiful log cabin will make sure that you, your dog, and your guests feel like you are truly visiting the woods.
If you and your dog like to swim:

If you and your dog are looking for some peace and quiet, this might be the right Airbnb for you. The description describes the landscape as “a high desert wonderland”, but also provides a place for solitude, or a great place to host a dog-friendly weekend with your closest friends!
Do you have any dog-friendly Airbnb recommendations? Where will you and your dog be traveling this summer?
FYI: Upon completing my research, I found it very difficult to determine if an Airbnb was pet-friendly or not. In order to do so, you have to type in the location, then click on “More Filters”, then scroll down to “House Rules”, and select “Pets Allowed”.
