A Natural Alternative for Fleas & Ticks: Amber Crown Collar

Do you want to learn about a natural way to protect your pet against fleas and ticks!?!?!

Did I hear a resounding, “Yes please!”? Well good! Becuase today I am going to introduce you to the Amber Crown Collar, which is a natural alternative for flea and tick prevention. Before we introduce the product, let’s discuss the most recent trends in flea & tick prevention that have led pet parents to seek natural alternatives.

A Concerning Trend

In recent years, there has been a lot of concern amongst pet parents about the chemicals in flea and tick prevention. These concerns are not off-base. I have seen a handful of pets visit the veterinary hospital due to instant reactions to a flea or tick medication. According to the FDA, the Environmental Protection Agency (which regulates the pesticides in the veterinary market) saw an increase of pet incidents reported regarding spot-on pesticide products in 2009. Interestingly enough, upon further research, the EPA determined that most of these product problems were due to misuse of the product. Specifically, they found that people were using cat products on dogs and dog products on cats. However, the EPA also identified a few “inert ingredients” that may have led to several of the reported incidences.

While the EPA’s research doesn’t support an “all flea and tick medications are bad” concept, it did spark a larger conversation about more natural alternatives.

Almost simultaneously, concern was rising in the veterinary community (especially here in California) as we were seeing a decrease in the efficacy of many flea and tick brands. The theory regarding California is that the winters are not cold enough to seasonally kill fleas and ticks. Therefore, the fleas and ticks that are replicating year-round are growing immune to the flea and tick products that have been on the market for some time.

With concerns rising among veterinarians and pet parents, it is no wonder a variety of more natural flea and tick products are available these days.

Today, I would like to share with you what makes the Amber Crown Collar an alternative for your pet.

How Does it Work?

When the Amber Crown Collar is worn by your pet it causes friction on your pet’s fur which does two things:

1. The static charge makes it difficult for insects to cling to your pet’s fur.

2. It creates aromatic terpenes that create a slightly piney scent that repels fleas and ticks.

Static electricity generated when amber rubs against the pet’s fur makes parasites uncomfortable and unable to cling to hairs. In addition, heated by friction to pet’s fur amber releases a piney aroma that repel ticks and fleas.

Who is the Amber Crown Collar good for?

Many products on the market are more suitable for certain pet parents over other pet parents. In my opinion, the Amber Crown Collar is a great natural flea & tick preventative for the following pet parents:

Pet Parents looking to reduce chemicals in their lives and their pet’s lives

Pet Parents with babies and children who are concerned about their baby’s exposure to the flea & tick prevention chemicals.

Pets who swim often. See, most spot-on medications need to fuse with pet’s natural oils and, therefore, the pets cannot be submerged in water for 24-48 hours after application. For some dogs with constant access to the water, this seems impossible.

Hand-made from raw Baltic amber, our pet necklace is safe for humans and animals, with no secondary effects on your pet, family or home. Can be used for all pets, even if they are young, allergic, pregnant or nursing. We hope you will love it!

Important Tips for Using the Amber Crown Collar

  • It takes 3 weeks for the Amber Crown Collar to be truly effective!
  • When applying the collar make sure you can fit your fingers between the collar and your pet’s neck to ensure comfort and safety.
  • While the necklace doesn’t interfere with a regular leash or collar, it should not be used as an alternative to a normal collar. Meaning, please don’t attach a leash to the Amber Crown Collar for walks or activity.
  • The Amber Crown Collar will remain effective for 12 months!
  • The necklace should be washed weekly with warm soap and water.
  • The Amber Crown Collar has a 100% money back guarantee and stress-free return policy.

Keep in Mind

Please keep in mind that the Amber Crown Collar is not a treatment, but a prevention. Meaning, if you already have an infestation, you will want to discuss with your veterinarian treatment options.

Also, you know I am going to say it! Please consult with your veterinarian before adding even natural treatments to your pet’s health plan. Besides you, your veterinarian is the only other person who should know all the details of your pet’s life in order to provide them with the best health care.

Still Some Questions

I do like that the Amber Crown Collar provides a natural alternative and the fact that they have a 100% money back guarantee makes me feel pretty good about their product. However, I still have two questions:

1. Is it safe to use in conjunction with spot-on tick and heartworm products? For example, some flea products are combined with heartworm preventative, which is great except your pet is still unprotected from ticks. It would be great if the Amber Crown Collar could be used as an additive for tick prevention.

2. What do veterinarians think? I couldn’t find any veterinary reviews on this product. While I know most veterinarians recommend more traditional products, I always like to get their input before widely recommending a natural product.

I have seen this collar before and was skeptical. It would be great if it worked. ☺

I would love to know if this type of prevention works for all regions in this country. SC has a huge flea problem, would love to hear a vet’s opinion regarding adequate coverage in this area.

I wonder if this works. It seems so simple, but if it does, it’s quite pretty too. I wonder if the amber is uncomfortable at all for the dogs since it’s a different texture.
